Renaissance Art Project 2012

7th Grade Renaissance Art projectRenaissance Collage

You have been commissioned to beautify our middle school with a famous Renaissance artwork. You will collaborate in groups of four.  Your group must choose what painting you will re-create.

Collaborative Collage – Each group will be given four pieces of A3 paper.  You will divide each A3 into fourths, a total of 16 small squares. Once you have your painting, use Photo Shop to crop it to the correct dimensions. Then, divide the painting into sixteenths. Each group member will be responsible for four squares. No group member can have adjoining, or adjacent squares. Make sure each group member has a copy of who will be doing which section. Use the materials you’ve been given to re-create the artwork onto the small squares, thus creating a Collaborative Collage.

Possible Renaissance artists to choose from:

Domenico Veneziano

Benozzo Gozzoli

Antonello da Messina
